No, your Ab Tronic unit will not work without sufficient gel or water. You do need a conductive medium between the Neopren
e Center and your skin.

have recently purchased the abtronic. I have been using it for 3 weeks and I now have a 6 pack that stands out like nothing else. the first time I used it it felt weird and a tingly sensation but it
becomes relaxing very easily. As to the other comments that were made about the silver lining you must not be using it correctly because mine does not crack.
